A Look Back At: The Killers – Hot Fuss. (Track by Track Review)

Back in 2004 there was a whirlwind of genres topping the charts, hip-hop, punk, nu-metal, pop, EDM and everything in between. Indie music was on the rise, feeding off of the post punk revival and Brit-pop revolution. And The Killers used this to their advantage. Combining elements from Rock and Brit-pop, Brandon Flowers and crew capitalised on the range of genres topping charts to come out above it all, even making a song that hovers around the Top 50 even 16 years later. Legends Never Die is   a Post-mortem album by Chicago Rapper Juice WRLD, who rose to fame just years ago, and passed away tragically in 2019 due to an overdose at only 21. Juice WRLD had such potentially since becoming one of the biggest names in rap through his fusion of genres and the way in which he uses his voice to rap, sing or slur, seemingly always at the right time. Juice WRLD is said to have over 2000 unreleased songs, so lets see if this 21 track album adds to his library of sad rap summer bangers.   (Scroll To The Bottom for an Overview Of The Album plus links to the Album.) Favourite Songs – Bad Energy, Righteous, Tell Me U Luv Me, Can’t Die. Juice WRLD Performing 'Legends' in 2018. Anxiety (Intro) Starting off, I think this is an amazing intro to a post mortem album. It’s a simple instrumental, building up further with inspirational strings, while audio clips from interviews and a live show play over, of Juice talking about problems he wanted to tackle with his m

Grey Daze - Amends (Track by Track Review)

Image
Amends is an album that serves in memory of one of the best vocalist to have ever lived, both in my opinion and in general consensus, Chester Bennington. Showcasing the music that made him develop his lyrical and vocal style, around the age of only 15/16, way before Linkin Park or any of his other Musical endeavours. Chester and other Grey Daze Members in their Early days. Now onto the sound of the album itself: Favourite Songs: In Time, Just Like Heroin, Morei Sky, Shouting Out. Sickness The opener ‘Sickness’ sets up the tone for the album fairly well, switching between the pained verses and powerful anger in the chorus, backed up by the crunchy guitars and a drum track that fits so perfectly that it manages to capture the beauty, pain and anger of the song alone. It starts off fairly harsh, with the gritty guitars, progressively aggressive and angsty teenage lyrics, sharp vocals in the verses followed by the beautifully gritty and familiar screams that Bennington is best know
